This is a tune I wrote long ago and have workshopped in many configurations. Towards the end of my time in Ohio, I had begun thinking of ways to incorporate the many free improvisations I had participated in into a more traditional composition space. For this, I turned to three performers I had come to know who had significant experience with improvisation within and outside of jazz contexts. For me, this marked a return to jazz performance after several years.
